This shake is the one to get you going in the morning, and it provides a healthy immune boost to keep germs at bay. It’s also under 200 calories per serving so you can hit your calorie goal for the day running. I’ve tried and tested all my shakes (I’m a shake addict, what can I say?) so you can trust me that it will taste good. You can use this as a meal replacement shake for any of your meals, but I like it first thing in the morning. The ginger gives it a kick that gets me going, and it fills me up until lunchtime.

The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties in ginger can improve the immunity of the body. Fresh ginger is rich in gingerol, a chemical compound found in fresh ginger, that has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Eating it on an empty stomach in the morning will give you the maximum benefit. Ginger is often touted as symptom relief for the common cold and flu.

Another great immune boosting ingredient in this shake is Turmeric. Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant.

Equipment needed

You will need a blender, or if you don’t have one, a food processor will do the job. Other than that, a knife and chopping board – or is that too obvious?
